️
REVIEW :
The book starts with the story of Yashasvi, a 19 year old who tries to end his life due to depression. The author presents true stories, research, statistics and facts and helps us understand how and why our brain functions the way it does. The book is divided into six sections , where each chapter deals with a specific topic. We come to know about how our ancestors treated mental illness to how the modern times has not changed the stigma attached to it. The book provides a clear distinction between psychology, psychiatry, mental illness and mental well-being! Suitable examples ranging from medieval times to Bollywood films have been given to make us understand certain terms. The book ends on a positive note with a highlight for change in this world where some good still prevails!

“Psychology has a long past, but a short history!”
This book is definitely not a self help, but rather it convinces us to seek help when we feel a void in our lives. It’s high time we separate the person from their illness and serve those who need our sympathy and care , instead of isolating them! Kudos to the author for his painstaking research in providing us with such a thought provoking book!
