Hola bookstagrammers! How about a book that focuses on the perils and unending drama of being adults in this generation?
The story has three protagonists, with each chapter being narrated by one of them in turn. Aisha is a social media manager, who’s flirty and flamboyant, has the perfect body and countless followers on social media. Ruhi is a woman with dreams of her own, working as Editorial Manager at Literacy Publishing, her dream startup! Tejas, the bestselling novelist, whose first book is a massive hit, seems to struggle from Writer’s block.
Ruhi loves her job though she hates her mother Farah for always undermining her, in front of others and even Tejas, her boyfriend. She manages to keep their relationship under wraps for fear of being fired by Farah. Aisha has joined Litracy Publishing recently and blooms in her career. Everything seems to go fine for all the three adults in their respective lives until life turns topsy turvy for each! Will Ruhi finally figure to stand up for herself and let go of people unworthy of her? What happens to Aisha as she gains and loses weight, all the while trying to please her online followers? Will Tejas write his second book and find the right person for him?
This book is definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, dealing with love, friendship and chasing one’s dreams! It has an entertaining motley of characters that resemble ourselves as adults in real life! I adored Ruhi’s character at the beginning, loved Aisha in the middle and sympathized with Tejas at the end. The author has weaved a slick life-size story of adults caught in the web of love, heartaches, dreams, self-discovery and book launches! The book does get confusing in the middle part, with characters lost in their own selves, but eventually find their closure in the climax!
