Hola bookstagrammers! How about a tale of an unlikely duo embarking on a trip complete with nudists, an unwelcome blast from the past and some soul-searching?
️The story is about Anviksha Punjabi, a 30 year-old two-time divorcee who lives with her sexagenarian mom Smita Punjabi. They are polar opposites — Anu is an introvert, whereas Smita is someone who lives outside the bag. Of late things seem to go wrong and on the verge of a breakdown, she plans for a solo trip to London to rediscover herself! However, just like other things in her life, this too turns unexpected when her mother decides to tally along!
️Smita Punjabi is worried about her daughter’s single status and brings several eligible bachelors. When Anu mentions a trip, she immediately jumps into the bandwagon complete with a makeover, bags of Indian snacks and loads of luggage. What was intended to be a trip to clear her head, ends up being a kaleidoscope of experiences. Will the mother-daughter duo finally learn to live with each other?
️ The author has explored a delicate topic of mother-daughter relationship with multitude of interesting and crazy characters, replete with liberal doses of humour sprinkled throughout the story! It was interesting to note that as the tale progresses, each character seems to have a baggage of their own and hence the apt title. I loved the quirky character names, apt descriptions of places visited, funny and outrageous incidents, and the apt generation gap. The ending will leave you smiling!
️ I picked up this book just for the blurb and the mother-daughter duo piqued my interest further! If you’re looking for a light and enjoyable read, then this book is for you! The mention of ZNMD more than once has won my heart for this book 🙂
