Since this book is set in Chennai, where i live currently, I felt more attached to the book, its places, and its characters!
Inspector Satyajit, an intrepid and honest police officer, is transferred to Avadi, a township in Chennai. He takes charge immediately and brings down several crimes to almond nil. But one morning, he comes to know that two murders took place almost one after the other and within a distance of few meters. His team gears up into action immediately and as the investigation proceeds, the stories of those who seem to be involved get murkier!
Kanaga was dressed up for her nephew’s marriage and adorned her poothali, a traditional necklace. As the marriage hall was nearby, she decided to go walk there. Om the way, a bike rider came close to her and snatched her necklace. She jerked forward, hit her head, and died on the spot. Meanwhile, Karthik, a successful businessman was traveling in his car along with his colleague Drishti on a busy road. He’s shot dead inside his car. Are the crimes interconnected? How is Kanaga related to Karthik? Is Drishti the only witness?
The author has debuted with a good thriller and a storyline interwoven with ample twists. I loved the mention of so many known places in Chennai and various incidents that connected the story from start to end! What stood out for me in this thriller was the usage of a different perspective for crime and an equally different background for it! I was intrigued to know about bike racers and their stunts!
The underlying theme of this thriller is greed and how humans are consumed by it to commit dastardly crimes and reveal their dark side as well. If you love a good quick thriller, then go pick this one!
