️ The famous detective Mr. Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle need no introduction on my part. The adventures of this sharply witty and moody detective ang his lovably pedantic and faithful friend Mr. Watson are a perennial source of inspiration for crime fiction lovers like me!
️ Many of us might have read one or the other investigation stories of Holmes. This book is actually a collection of twelve weirldy unique cases narrated, investigated and of course solved by our favourite duo of Holmes and Watson! Each case is presented in a narrative manner mostly by Watson as if he’s reading out the case files to us, and a few by the man Holmes himself. I must say that the narrative manner is quite eccentric, clever and induced with liberal doses of humour. It felt as is I’m listening to the case by someone narrating it in front of me!
️ The almost seemingly original and imaginative plots race along like a furious roller coaster, leaving us readers guessing which will it will turn next. A few cases had unbelievable outcomes that left me with utter disbelief and wonder. Well, that’s what brilliant writing does! It also proved that cases don’t always deal with humanly criminals but also other deadly live creatures!
️ As a die-hard fan of crime thrillers, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every case with its freshly crafted uniqueness. Apart from the detailed information on each investigated case, it was fun getting to know more about Holmes as a person, not as a moody detective! I was so engrossed throughout the book that I didn’t realise completing it and felt like craving more such stories
️ This book has some definitely unique cases, something that I haven’t read of Holmes solving such ones! If you are a fan of crimes and the methodologies implemented to solve each, then pick this one up for sure!
