Β π£ββοΈ How about an exciting adventure in the middle of a lazy village, replete with muddy lakes, ancient forts, mysterious symbols, no cellphones, and houses that are miles apart with eerie sounds emanating from them at night?
π£ββοΈ Aman, a young teenager is sent to his aunt Nalini’s village in Kensar, for his vacation whil his friends seem to be enjoying their vacation on foreign lands. A reluctant Aman arrives at Kensar with Oscar, his dog, and is disappointed to find that the village has no network connectivity! With nothing else to do, he roams around the village and spots the mysterious yellow lake with yellowish water at one end. He befriends Sandy aka Sandeep and his sister Isha. They become great friends and decide to explore the lake.
π£ββοΈ A strange man who claims to be an artist arrives and settles in a cottage near Nalini’s residence. Aman wakes up to strange thumping sounds in the night and also finds mysterious symbols in an ancient fort. Will he be able to piece the clues in the symbols and unravel the mystery of the yellow lake? Does Kensar have more to it than what meets the eye?
π£ββοΈ This short book is full of a well-written mystery set in an idyllic village. Aman’s character meets gets to meet real people, is caught in a real adventure, and lives an exciting holiday! The narrative is pretty simple and engaging. I especially loved the cover design
π£ββοΈ I would definitely recommend this book to your kids as a starter to mysteries and I’m sure avid readers like me will enjoy it as well!
